MarketingVOX: With its purchase of MyBlogLog, a site aimed at blog publishers and readers, Yahoo continues its acquisition of social-media sites.
MyBlogLog has created a utility that allows bloggers to insert an area on their blog that shows pictures of recent visitors to the blog, with a link back to the visitor’s?blogs, MediaWeek reports. MyBlogLog is the latest social-media-centered acquisition for Yahoo, which has already purchased photo-sharing site Flickr and social-bookmarking site del.icio.us.
The challenge for Yahoo will be to keep MyBlogLog’s community of loyal users, and then expand its overall reach. Yahoo has been careful to change as little as possible about the user experience after acquiring Flickr and del.icio.us, and the strategy seems to be paying off.
