Want to send a free printed postcard to U.S. military personnel stationed overseas, to show your support and appreciation? Well, through the partnership of Xerox and Give2TheTroops, a nonprofit organization (along with print shops and other corporations), you can choose a thank-you card design (compliments of Boys and Girls Clubs) and it will be printed and sent to a soldier currently serving in Iraq.
Cause-related marketing is finally coming into its own. What began in 1983 with the American Express campaign to restore the Statue of Liberty, has evolved into countless programs and parterships today. This one from Xerox – Let’s Say Thanks - is a good fit, combining print and community outreach.
It even includes celebrity spokespeople to encourage greater participation. Research shows that cause-related marketing improves the bottom line, not just for corporations, but for small businesses as well. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Elaine,
Thank you for sharing. I’m off to send a card.
Great program! Kudos to Xerox and Give2TheTroops for stepping up.
I archived some of the online advertising they developed for the campaign:

My much larger colection of online ads related to social marketing is here:

Thanks for your recommendation, Susan. I’m a bit confused, however, what list management has to do with cause-related marketing. Plus, when I clicked on your name above, it linked through to the Acquirelists Web site. Do you work for them by any chance?
Lewis, way to go!
Elaine, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I sent a card. Good stuff!
