Women Like Playing Games on Mobile Phones

MarketingVOX: Women account for 59 percent of all U.S. consumers who play games on mobile phones according to a new study from Parks Associates (via Tekrati), which estimates that women constitute 61 percent of those playing mobile phone games 1-4 hours per month, and 58 percent of those playing more than four hours.
Among all internet-based gamers, women are the majority because they tend to be fond of online trivia and card games, whereas men are into intense action and role-playing games – which are absent from the mobile gaming space.
“Women are the foundation of the gaming market, and as an industry, we need to cater to their preferences,” said John Barrett, director of research at Parks Associates.
