Who’s Going to Scottsdale? Michelle Halm, Loyola Press

The upcoming MarketingProfs Digital Marketing Mixer takes place next month in Scottsdale, Arizona. You’ve probably already seen the stellar speaker lineup, keynotes, and sponsor list. But as the name “Mixer” suggests, the attendees are an equally important part of the.. well, mix. In an occasional series, I highlight some of the people that will be attending. Now up: Michelle Halm.

Tell me a little about what you do.

I work for a rather unique company, Loyola Press. We are a nonprofit publishing house owned by the Jesuits. We print trade and text books with particular focus to help people as they walk their faith journey.
I focus on PR for our trade books. This includes our social marketing campaigns and event planning. It’s challenging but I love being part of something “bigger” that helps people on a very deep level.
What are the biggest challenges you face in your job these days?
We live in an exciting time of constant change and new developments especially regarding technology. This challenges us to be creative and find opportunities to optimize new outlets, such as social media, to bring our message, services, and products to our customers.
How many marketing/business events do you attend a year?
It really depends on our needs. We really believe in staying abreast of the market place and educating ourselves so that we can serve our customers in a timely fashion with quality services.
So why did you decide to attend the MarketingProfs Digital Marketing Mixer?
I am really looking forward to my first MarketingProfs Digital Marketing Mixer! I was looking for a conference that addressed different areas of digital marketing & PR. The MarketingPRofs Digital Marketing Mixer encompasses online marketing, email campaigns, analytics, and social media …. exactly what I wanted. Plus the timing of the conference is perfect.

What do you hope to get out of the MarketingProfs event?

I hope to return with concrete ideas and strategies for enhancing my PR and marketing campaigns especially regarding the social media aspect.
Is there anyone special or any kind of vendor you hope to meet there?
Well it’s not that I have to meet them, but I am really looking forward to hearing Chris Brogan (I’m a groupie & love his insights!) and Mark Collier.
Which session is a “must-attend” for you?
Actually the problem is trying to figure out what session is not a “must-attend”! You have so many quality speakers and relevant topics that it is hard to decide.
