WebSideStory’s Search 4.0 Integrates Site Search with Behavior Metrics

(MarketingVOX) WebSideStory has launched its WebSideStory Search 4.0, which the company says is the first site-search solution to automatically integrate search with website behavioral data. Its new Active Ranking technology enables marketers to optimize the ranking of their search results based on visitor metrics such as conversion rate, entry pages, most requested pages and visits. The result is improved relevancy of content and higher conversion rates.

Search 4.0 also offers guided site navigation, a 10-fold increase in search capacity, and automated SEO sitemap and shopping engine feeds, enabling marketers to maximize the acquisition, retention and conversion of online customers, the company said. Search 4.0 integrates with WebSideStory’s HBX Analytics solution via the company’s application programming interface (API).
“Based on early results, WebSideStory’s new search product has already increased our sales due to site search by at least 25 percent,” Lillian Posner, director of e-commerce for Brooks Brothers, is quoted as saying.
Search 4.0 should be attractive to e-commerce sites in particular, because they can measure results more easily and so more readily see ROI, Steve Kusmer, SVP and GM of WebSideStory’s search and content solutions, is quoted by ClickZ as saying. Commerce sites can benefit by using the product to merchandise a page, serving up results with the highest conversion rates, margin levels, or other criteria. “The whole goal is to increase sell-through rate through search,” Kusmer said.
