MediaBuyerPlanner: Vodafone, the official partner and mobile network of the UEFA Champions League, has agreed to sponsor the UEFA Cup Finals and two UEFA Super Cups for the next three years. The UEFA is the governing body of European soccer.
Through June 2009, Vodafone Group Plc, the world’s largest mobile-phone company, will get on-screen branding during the international broadcast of the games, writes Bloomberg.
The company also sponsored the Manchester United soccer club until the end of the season in May 2006. The new sponsorship, according to the company, will increase brand awareness and boost revenue.
A survey by Sports Marketing Surveys Ltd. showed that Vodafone was the most recognized sports jersey among English soccer teams.
