Two Direct Marketers Report Strong Second Quarters


MediaBuyerPlanner: Coldwater Creek announced that in its second quarter ended July 29, its internet and catalog divisions delivered higher sales compared to a year ago. Direct net sales increased 23.5 percent in Q2, while internet net sales increased 30.1 percent in the same quarter. Overall, net sales for the fiscal second quarter increased 41.2 percent.
Chico’s, too reported an increase in net sales, with net sales increasing 18.9 percent, writes DM News. Catalog and internet sales saw an overall 73 percent increase thanks in part to the addition, in fiscal 2006, of catalog and internet sales of WH|BM and Fitigues merchandise, as well as an increased presence of the Soma brand in its catalogs and online. The Chico brand itself delivered a 31 percent increase in catalog and internet sales.
