I'm probably in the minority in saying that cloud computing is an important trend and something that should be monitored, however I'm not convinced it's going to take massive share from what Carr calls the "private model". Is a good option for start-ups, or companies that need more compute power for seasonality? Absolutely. But until data security and availability issues are resolved (if ever), it's going to be a slice of the pie, but not the predominant one.
