I&#039;m probably in the minority in saying that cloud computing is an important trend and something that should be monitored, however I&#039;m not convinced it&#039;s going to take massive share from what Carr calls the &quot;private model&quot;.
Is a good option for start-ups, or companies that need more compute power for seasonality? Absolutely. But until data security and availability issues are resolved (if ever), it&#039;s going to be a slice of the pie, but not the predominant one.
