Many regular readers of The Daily Fix know about The Age of Conversation, the collaborative book of essays from more than 100 marketing bloggers, which came from an online conversation between Drew McLellan in Iowa and Gavin Heaton in Australia. The book, which we think was the first of its kind involving so many bloggers who had never met, raised more than $15,000 for Variety, the international children’s charity.
Drew and Gavin are at it again, and this time they’ve enlisted 237 of us, including many whose bylines we often see on these very pages.
Age of Conversation 2 debuts today.

The new book has essays on conversation from marketing pros from 29 states throughout the U.S. and from 14 other nations including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, India, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Turkey, Ukraine and the U.K. It’s truly an international look at the role conversation plays in marketing as well as in our everyday lives.
The book will be available beginning today, just in time for holiday gift-giving. It’s in three formats …. an e-book, softcover and hardcover. All proceeds will again be donated to Variety, the international children’s charity.
Pricing for The Age of Conversation 2 is:
e-book: $12.50 ($10.00 going to charity)
paperback book: $19.95 ($8.02 to charity)
hardbcover book: $29.95 ($6.04 to charity)

I am excited about the new edition. There are some great insights and even some revelations (my marketing tragedy) from some of the best marketers on the planet (IMHO). Hope you enjoy reading it!
The energy that Drew and Gavin have for this project and the time they put into it is amazing, admirable, and inspiring. Sincere thanks to both of you.
I can’t wait to read AOC deux!
I second Ann’s remarks. Drew and Gavin have been selfless in their efforts. They deserve a huge hug from all of us who believe giving back is the right thing to do. Thanks to all who helped Drew and Gavin put the book and promotion together, including David and Cam Beck. (Perhaps others helped as well. Kudos to all who participated.)
I just ordered my copies this morning. But from what I’ve seen of the book in a 20-page press sampler, I think we’ll all be quite impressed.
w00t! I downloaded a copy and am having a hardcover sent to me.
What I’ve read so far has been very, very good.
The topic selection and organization of it were strokes of genius. I can tell that the authors really stretched themselves, creatively.
Pick a chapter at random. Some great insights, throughout.
David,
Thanks for helping to spread the word.
I think Gavin is right — lots of very thought-provoking content, the asking of some new questions and the sharing of some old wounds.
The authors outdid themselves and we’re confident that everyone who buys the book will feel like they got a steal!
Drew
If you haven’t seen it yet, the book has write-ups in Mediapost’s Marketing Daily and in Media Daily News.

Gavin reports sales of nearly 200 copies on the first day!
I downloaded a copy and ordered a physical version for the bookshelf. It is amazing to see how people interpreted their chosen section. The result is what you would hope for from such a broad group – diverse thoughts and interesting content.
While the authors contributed a page and support, Drew and Gavin’s dedication has resulted in an amazing book.
