MediaBuyerPlanner: Chrysler is offering qualified customers $1,000 toward the purchase or lease of most 2006 and 2007 Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep vehicles through a direct mail effort.
The mailing will be targeted to 3.4 million potential buyers – customers who have previously bought from Chrysler as well as those who have self-identified as potential customers – and is valid through Jan. 2, writes the Detroit Free Press (via Direct Magazine).
Chrysler spokesman Kevin McCormick says that this is the largest mailing Chrysler has ever done.
DaimlerChrysler AG is expected to report a $1.3 billion loss for the fiscal year, and Chrysler dealers have been asking the company for promotions that can help clear out 2006 inventory without eroding sales of 2007 models, according to the article.
The company recently announced a TV campaign in three leading markets with large multi-ethnic populations. The campaign will feature ads in three different languages: Mandarin and Korean, as well as English. They will air in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
