Staying Up Late Pays Off For Some Brands

MediaBuyerPlanner: TNS Media Intelligence has released numbers on late night brand appearances during CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, Brandweek reports.
Yamaha musical instruments is the most-seen brand – on Letterman, Yamaha shows up in shots of Paul Shaffer’s band – but also seen frequently in the late-night segment are Pontiac, Coors, Toyota and Nike sneakers. Pontiac and Coors sponsor musical acts on Kimmel, and Toyota has done the same on Leno. Kimmel wears Nike in the opening montage of his show.
Total brand appearances on late night TV talk shows, January 1 – June 18, 2006: Yamaha Musical Instruments 1373, Pontiac 263, Nike 260, Coors Light 236, Brokeback Mountain 134, Pittsburgh Steelers 105, Hello Deli Restaurant 97, Coca-Cola 95, TJ Maxx 88, and Toyota 70.
