Staples Stacks Up Big Year


MediaBuyerPlanner: Staples and Victoria’s Secret Direct saw fourth quarter sales increase 18 percent for the three months ended Feb. 3, according to Direct Magazine.
Fourth quarter net income grew 24 percent for Staples, while net income for Limited Brands, Victoria’s Secret’s parent company, fell 15 percent.
For online merchant Bluefly, fourth quarter sales rose 28 percent for the three months ended Dec. 31, but net loss for the same period grew from $55,000 the previous year to $3.5 million.
