Sound Enhances Interactive Outdoor Ads

(MediaBuyerPlanner) Sound provided by interactive technology is the newest feature that provides consumers an additional, engaging element to outdoor ads projected on public floors and walls, Media Life reports.
“The sound component brings another side to the visual,” said John Payne, president of Florida-based Monster Media, provider of the GroundFX outdoor ads. The company works with advertisers online to create the ads.

Ad messages can change to better target consumers. “When a client is targeting multiple demographics, like say McDonald’s, at the peak time for moms at the mall with kids, the ad can be game-related and later change to different creative for teens,” Payne says.
According to Payne, the most popular product categories using GroundFX include: automotive, cable service, cellular service, electronics, entertainment, fast food, grocery, insurance, pharmaceuticals, restaurants and retail. Companies already using the ads include McDonald’s, Verizon, GM, Starbucks Coffee, Pepsi and Comcast.
