MarketingVOX: After attending a recent gathering of Microsoft’s “Most Valuable Professionals,” blogger and former Microsoft technical evangelist Robert Scoble wrote that his former employer “sucks,” reports MacDailyNews.
Scoble’s comments come after a presentation by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer in which Ballmer played up the company’s strengths, especially against Google. Whereas Google, according to Ballmer, has only one “trick,” Microsoft has two… going on three and four: desktop software, server, online and consumer electronics.
Microsoft’s internet execution, according to Scoble, is the primary sucking point, along with search and advertising. None of those compares favorably against other search engines, ad platforms or server options, according to Scoble.
He chalks Ballmer’s comments up to mere “trash talk” and reminds Microsoft not to get too cocky until it can actually ship out products.
