Roehm Files Suit against Wal-Mart

MediaBuyerPlanner: Julie Roehm has filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart, claiming the retail giant breached her contract and damaged her reputation. She is seeking financial damages – plus items left in her office when she departed the company.
The lawsuit was filed last month in the Michigan state court, but it was recently transferred to federal court, writes AdAge. Roehm alleges that Wal-Mart hasn’t lived up to its end of the compensation deal she agreed to when she joined the company. The agreement included a base salary of $325,000, annual incentive-based bonuses, and restricted stock worth up to $300,000.
Roehm, the former Wal-Mart marketing executive, was let go by the retailer in December, in a high profile dismissal. The retailer claimed that Roehm mismanaged an ad account review. Executives close to the company also said she had an inappropriate relationship with Sean Womack, vp-communications architecture for the company.
Wal-Mart denies Roehm’s allegations.
