MediaBuyerPlanner: Time magazine’s long-awaited redesign will be unveiled this week, with new section names, a more visually dramatic look and more text-heavy pages, writes MediaPost.
The redesign, completed under new managing editor Rick Stengel, has the issue divided into five sections (down from seven), including Briefing, Commentary, a news section, a section on society, science, trends and business, and an arts section. The magazine will close with an essay.
Staffers who have seen prototypes have compared the new look to The Economist.
Stengel was named managing editor last spring. Subsequent shifts in the magazine have included a new on-sale date and an increased focus on analysis.
