MediaBuyerPlanner: Radio revenues increased only slightly in 2006 over 2005, growing 1 percent. Total combined local, national and network sales figures were flat for the year. National business grew 5 percent year-over-year, local fell 1 percent and network decreased 2 percent, according to the Radio Advertising Bureau.
The 1 percent increase was due to a 10 percent increase in non-spot dollars over the time period, writes MediaPost.
Fourth quarter grand total revenue grew 3 percent, compared to the same quarter last year.
Wachovia predicted in Jan. 2006 that radio revenue would grow 2.8 percent.
