MediaBuyerPlanner: Radio One has agreed to sell 11 stations to Main Line Broadcasting for $76 million.
Radio One is selling all five of its radio stations in Dayton, Ohio, and five of its six stations in Louisville, Ky., writes Mediaweek.
The two cities are the smallest of all Radio One’s markets in terms of actual population of African Americans, said Alfred Liggins, CEO and president of the Urban radio company. There are also several stations among the 10 being sold that are non-Urban.
Main Line Broadcasting, which currently owns 9 stations, was formed to build a group of radio stations in mid-size markets, primarily in the eastern U.S.
