Profs Get $150K Grant for Teaching Games

MarketingVOX: The National Science Foundation is giving two professors a $150,000 grant to develop video games designed to teach computer science students, reports Next Generation.
Scott Wallace of Washington State University Vancouver and Andrew Nierman of the University of Puget Sound will use the money to develop curricula that will include “largely arcade-style” games in the spirit of Pac-Man, Frogger and even Super Mario Bros. They will also create a game tool kit to help students design their own games.
The games will ultimately be a vehicle for making learning more “exciting and compelling to students.”
