MediaBuyerPlanner: CBS’s decision to air Criminal Minds after the Super Bowl paid off, drawing a season high for the show, according to Nielsen overnights.
Criminal Minds, which aired after CBS’s Super Bowl broadcast on Sunday, drew 26.23 million total viewers – 11 million fewer than ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy last year but still the third-best post Super Bowl show since 1999, writes Media Life.
CBS’s Survivor averaged 33.5 million in 2004.
The game also helped a special edition of CBS’s The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson reach a series best, with 5.15 million total viewers.
