MediaBuyerPlanner: A deputy editor at the new Conde Nast business publication, Portfolio, is out before the second issue hits the stands.
James Impoco was fired for insubordination, according to colleagues, writes The New York Times. A spokesperson for Conde Nast said nothing more than that Impoco left the magazine, “and we wish him well.”
Insiders say that Joanne Lipman, the editor, and Impoco have clashed numerous times since they began working together last year to create the magazine. Before being recruited for Portfolio, Impoco was a business editor at The New York Times.
