OVAB Names Advisory Board

MediaBuyerPlanner: The Out-of-Home Video Advertising Bureau has formed an agency advisory board that will help OVAB “break down the barriers to adoption of digital advertising networks,” according to Kim Norris, president of the bureau.
Advisory board members hail from advertising agencies including Starcom, Universal McCann, Carat, OMD,
Zenith, Sequent Partners and Hill-Holiday. OVAB formally launched in January of this year with a mission to make it easier for advertisers to plan, buy and evaluate the effectiveness of digital networks through the
creation of best practices and standards.
While the out of home advertising space continues to grow at a predicted rate of 24.7 percent from 2007 to 2008, according to the Emerging Media Forecast from Magna Global, out-of-home video networks face an obstacle in the fact that the medium lacks a way to purchase place-based networks in an aggregated way, so buyers cannot make one-stop ad buys. The agency hopes to address that issue, among others.
