MediaBuyerPlanner: Two newspapers have shut down due to dwindling circulation and lack of money.
A 21-year-old paper aimed at Vermont’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, Out in the Mountains, has folded. It was a free paper, published monthly, writes Media Life.
Pasco County News, a 102-year-old paper out of Dade City, Florida, has also closed. The paper saw falling circulation figures, declining ad revenue, and new competition, as both the St. Petersburg Times and the Tampa Tribune have expanded into the paper’s readership area.
