Old Navy Makes Mint in Gap’s E-commerce Pocket


MarketingVOX: With posted sales of $93 million for its first quarter, a 27.4 percent gain from last year, OldNavy.com is the largest single e-commerce channel for enterprise Gap Inc., reports Internet Retailer.
In comparison, Gap.com made Web sales of $68 million, up 15.3 percent from Q1 in 2006, while BananaRepublic.com secured $29 million, an 11.5 percent increase from last year.
Web sales across the board outdid store sales in Q1 ‘07. Gap North America plummeted 4 percent from last year to $1.42 billion; Banana Republic dropped 2 percent ($528 million) and Old Navy North America sustained a 5 percent decrease to $1.53 billion.
