MediaBuyerPlanner: WWD’s president of Media Worldwide, Edward Menicheschi, will succeed Alan Katz as publisher of Vanity Fair. A new president for Media Worldwide has not yet been named. The news follows months of speculation on who Katz’s successor would be.
Katz joined Vanity Fair from the now-defunct magazine Cargo in September 2005, but failed to click with editor-in-chief Graydon Carter, according to Mediaweek. Menicheschi served as president of WWD Media Worldwide since 2001, overseeing WWD, WWD.com and Footwear News.
Ad pages for Vanity Fair fell 12.7 percent through August, according to Mediaweek Monitor.
