MarketingVOX: Three Baltimore media professionals plan to launch a new online news site that will mix professional and citizen journalism, MediaPost writes (via MediaBuyerPlanner).
Sean Carton, chief strategy officer for online consultancy idfive; Fern Shen, a former WaPo and Baltimore Sun reporter; and Marc Steiner, host of a show from the city’s public radio station WYPR, will launch a site that will offer a “more comprehensive understanding of what’s going on in the city.”
For now, the site is being called the Baltimore Bulldog. It will combine text, audio and video in ways that will offer “something that couldn’t possibly be done on paper,” according to Carton.
Steiner promises to create new ad models that will help sustain the site.
