MediaBuyerPlanner: NBCU is continuing to expand its ad platforms in the out-of-home space via a deal with Arena Media Networks. This is the third such deal NBCU has signed in recent months in order to extend its ad network beyond TV: in July, it signed a deal with Premiere Retail Networks to sell ads on its Supermarket Checkout TV network. Last January, it formed a partnership with Clear Channel Taxi to provide content and sell ads in New York City cabs.
The deal gives NBCU the chance to provide content clips from its NBC Sports, News and Entertainment divisions – along with content from locally owned and operated stations – that will be included in a 10-minute loops during all the events that take place in Arena Media Networks‘ stadiums, writes MediaPost.
NBCU will also be able to package deals with marketers that will include advertising in the out-of-home network. Chevrolet has already signed on in Chicago, and Gallo has signed on in New York.
