MSNBC’s FirstPerson Lets Users Submit News Content

MarketingVOX: Tapping into the citizen journalist trend, MSBNC has launched a portal that allows people to upload their own news content according to MediaWeek.
The site, dubbed FirstPerson, invites people to submit photos, videos and more dealing with the news of the day. That content is then reviewed by the site’s editors and eventually posted to the site in organized galleries. Visitors can then vote on their favorite material.
MSNBC hopes that the content that’s submitted will eventually add the voice of the viewer to the professional news stories the network/website covers.
