Microsoft Sued over Vista Marketing

MarketingVOX: Microsoft has been sued over the marketing of its new Windows Vista operating system. Allegedly, some computer systems were advertised as “Vista capable” but were not capable of handling the new Vista OS, reports CNET.
The “Vista capable” labels were apparently put on personal computers that were ready to run only Vista Home Basic, a stripped-down version of the software. The class-action suit, filed in Seattle, alleges that labeling a computer as ready for Vista should mean it can handle the Vista that’s been advertised by Microsoft as a significant leap in the computing experience.
It was unreasonable of Microsoft, according to the suit, to expect all consumers to understand the system requirements for upgrading to the full-featured Vista.
Microsoft says it did all it could to educate the consumer population on the different versions of Vista and their requirements.
