		<description>&quot;... men are considered no less masculine if they pay good money for a nice sweater, a facial or a safer car.&quot;
Safer cars are considered unmasculine?
News to me. I always thought they were a sign of responsibility. They just don&#039;t seem to fit in with fancy sweaters and facials.
I also wonder if men never bought these things before because they didn&#039;t want to or because they weren&#039;t readily available.

		<description>Elaine,
I don&#039;t think men and women are becoming too much more a like. The fundamental differences are still there and not going any where soon.
So keep Rod Serling behind the curtain for the the time being. :-)

		<description>Andrea, have women become more like men and men more like women? In another two generations, we&#039;ll all be androgynous! :) (Can&#039;t you just hear the doo-doo of the Twilight Zone here?)
I imagine that this interesting social phenomenon will have profound effects on marketing for years to come.

		<description>Yes, you are absolutely right that men are becoming more discerning in some areas but, I have to say, men have always shopped mindfully for certain things. Cars and tech gadgets come to mind quickly. :-)
One difference between men and women that will be hard to overcome: some women can stay at malls and stores for hours, while many men want to leave pretty quickly.
I suffer the affliction that after one hour at a mall (or any store or stores) I have this almost irresistible urge to leave.
