MarketingVOX: Brothers D.W. and Clint Hackleman’s Dementia-Myndflame Studios is one of the up-and-coming producers of machinima – short films created using videogame graphics – and they are now running ads in their films, reports MediaPost.
Using graphics from the game World of Warcraft, which provides its 7 million registered users as a potential viewing audience, the short film “Super Snacks: Illegal Danish” topped 3 million streams (watch a trailer here).
For “Super Snacks,” their second effort, the pair began accepting paid sponsorship from hardware companies such as Athlon, Creative Labs, D-Link and Hypernia.
“We’ve got a couple of companies that have contacted us, but we’re kind of picky on who we have sponsor,” Clint said. “If we’re going to show people a company at the beginning of our movie, we want to make sure that it’s targeting our audience.”
