MediaBuyerPlanner: CBS’s post-nuclear disaster drama Jericho returned last night after a three-month break. Up against American Idol for the first time, the surprisingly popular drama was down a gigantic 27 percent from its 3.3 average last fall.
The show, returning to its Wednesday 8 p.m. time slot, averaged a 2.4 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen overnights, writes Media Life. Jericho placed second in terms of ratings and total viewers, behind American Idol.
Jericho’s relative success can be more accurately measured once the American Idol season is over and Fox’s usual Wednesday 8 p.m. occupant, Bones, is back on the air.
