‘Jane’ Bares It All Online

MediaBuyerPlanner: Conde Nast’s Jane saw increased subscriptions from its website – as well as big traffic and page view increases – after the website backed up a print spread on breast health with photos of women baring their breasts.
The current issue of Jane includes a four-page guide to breast health. In mid-April, JaneMag.com posted photos of 23 women baring their breasts, writes Mediaweek. Four days later, traffic and page views for the slide show had more than doubled and the magazine raked in 500 subscribers in a day, more than twice what the site normally pulls on a good day.
Jane has been climbing back to prominence after advertisers jumped ship when founding editor Jane Pratt left a little over two years ago. Ad pages through May grew 17.2 percent to 206 over the prior year, according to Mediaweek Monitor, and total circulation has risen 1.9 percent to 713,581 in the second half of 2006, per the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
