<description>Thanks for your comments and positive responses.
Tony, you are absolutely correct that Apple is the perfect example of a well balanced innovation pipeline, alternating between slight optimization on the Iphone and new category breakthrough (e.g. Iphone)

		<description>Fantastic article Eric!
After reading this content, I immediately thought about the recent articles Fortune magazine published about Apple and Steve Jobs in their CEO of the Decade Issue. The four Innovation Models explaining sustained versus disruptive innovation describe how Apple has carefully balanced these models in executing their iPod and iPhone brand management.
This article is going in my Delicious.com bookmarks right now. I agree with @Dee - thank you for clearly and simply explaining these important innovation concepts.

<description>Very succinct and powerful. I love the term &quot;Disruptive innovation&quot; I have seen it in other places but I have never seen it explained so well.
Thanks Eric

<description>Great post. Times such as these just force you to think more strategic as a marketer. Even outside of a recession, keeping &quot;balance&quot; in mind is always helpful. You want to work smarter, not harder.
