<description>a really great comopany that meets all the criteria for quality leads is &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.fnin.com/.&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://www.fnin.com/.&lt;/a&gt; they generate investor leads in categories to your interest so i would recommend checking them out first.

		<description>Mike,
Buying a list of anything (mail, email, leads, etc.) is problematic on at least three fronts. First, how is a list assembler really supposed to know your target market and your customer base unless you specifically instruct them on what you&#039;re looking for? Answer - they won&#039;t, it&#039;s generic. Second, how do you know what you&#039;re getting? When was the last time this list was checked for accuracy or updated? Third, if the list is so easy to put together, why not do it yourself and do it right? To me this is the key. I&#039;ve been contacted by several companies supposedly able to furnish 100, 1,000, etc. qualified leads for my business when they have no clue what my business actually is. In fact, they can&#039;t know what I&#039;m looking for so it&#039;s a great niche for them to say they have it for those companies that are willing to spend money for a shortcut rather than invest the time necessary to cultivate a good working lead list - and it&#039;s a big waste of money (whatever the cost) for those of us who understand that it doesn&#039;t work.

		<description>Great post Mike.
I have experienced the same thing with many clients and have been at fault with my own marketing. As many mass advertising and marketing projects get more expensive and less effective I can not see how anyone can not find time or budget for targeting.
Companies, consumer or business to business, should include target marketing and advertising in the mix, taking the budget from mass marketing.
One problem is that many companies think they already do this. They know the age group they are seeking, the income level, the industry or the title of the person they need to impress. They think this is targeting. It is not.
Targeting is knowing as much as possible about your target so you can develop messaging that peaks their interest. It is getting harder and harder and more expensive to do this in a mass media framework.
