Google Video Upgraded, Promotes Break-ups

MarketingVOX: Search giant Google, playing catch-up in user-generated video, this week updated its Google Video service to allow users to more easily post, email and embed video on websites and blogs, writes TechNewsWorld. Though some praised the new features, others complained they lacked some functionality, such as “favorite videos,” offered by YouTube, arguably the leading online-video site.
Google, which provided a special site for video-makers with many titles to upload, is promoting the new video service via a program that coincides with “National Break-Up Day,” June 2, and the release of the film “The Break Up,” starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn.
To link in with the social-networking aspects of video uploads, Google is asking users to share their break-up stories on video using the new upload service. “Check the site daily for new videos that might make your own look tame,” Google says on the site.
