I think Lewis has it right.
Blogging nothing for 24 hours would not be effective *unless* there were a lot of publicity ahead of time.
But a day devoted to blogging about the strike would have been more effective. Maybe that is plan B.

As a former social justice grassroots organizer, I applaud the thought but disagree with the method. Affective protest isn’t when we do nothing (including nearly all boycots), it is when we do something. Instead of not blogging, the campaign should have been to blog about the strike and tell/show our readers what the issues are and why they should care. That is why protests are called activism.
