GlobeDirect: Former Employees Stole Trade Secrets, Clients

MediaBuyerPlanner: Former employees of GlobeDirect are being accused of attempting to lure clients away from the direct mail and marketing firm, and of stealing customer lists and internal documents as well as work histories.
In 2006, former vp of GlobeDirect Stephen Duncan announced that he was planning to leave the company to join Kirkwood Direct, where he is now president, writes Direct Magazine. Duncan allegedly told GlobeDirect that he would not be competing with the company in his new position, but GlobeDirect says that the “solo mail aspect of Kirkwood Direct’s business would be virtually indistinguishable from GlobeDirect’s,” according to a complaint filed in the Superior Court Department of the Trial Court for Massachusetts by the company.
The complaint also alleges that GlobeDirect clients such as TracPoint Wireless, C-Suite, WorkflowOne and Sports Club LA were solicited to send their work to Kirkwood, having been told that GlobeDirect owner Globe Newspaper Co. was in the process of selling GlobeDirect, and that the company was no longer in the direct mail business. According to Globe Direct, both of those statements are false.
