In sales it's all about satisfying a person's needs by being able to know what the benefits are they're looking for. For employees it's the same thing, the better we can satisfy their needs by knowing what the benefits they're looking for the better the company will run. Keep in mind benefits an employee is looking for includes such things as recognition, satisfaction, sense of self-worth, and a host of things beyond the absolute pay.
