MarketingVOX: In the past four weeks, Flickr has enjoyed a leap of 38 percent in traffic, making it the #2 photo site behind MySpace’s beloved Photobucket, which continues to lead with 43.5 percent share, according to Hitwise.
Yahoo Photos shuttered in June, siphoning all former users into the lap of Flickr. And later, Yahoo also began using Flickr images in its image search option. June also saw debut of Flickr in seven new languages.
The effort paid off fast. For the week ending 7 July 2007, Flickr served 6.42 percent of category visits in the US, as opposed to 4.57 percent in March 2007.
