MediaBuyerPlanner: The August issue of Figure, a Meredith Corp. magazine geared toward the “plus-size” woman, unveiled a new design, complete with a new format and a new editorial tone.
New sections in the magazine, now in its fourth year of publication, include articles by big-name authors, fewer fashion photos, and a look at the lifestyles of plus-size celebrities, writes DM News. It also contains more editorial content.
Figure has a rate base of 467,000 and publishes six times a year. Editor-in-chief B.J. Towe is quoted as saying she wants to “significantly increase the subscription and newsstand distribution, and I feel confident that we will because the content has been elevated.” She points out that 62 percent of the American population of women wears a size 14 or larger.
