MediaBuyerPlanner: A new magazine launches this month, focusing on the compliance, ethics and corporate social responsibility field. Ethisphere Magazine will be the largest circulation print publication in the field, according to the Ethisphere Council.
Ethisphere Magazine was created to illuminate the correlation between ethical leadership and profits, according to Stephen Martin, executive director of the Ethisphere Council.
The first issue of the magazine will include the Code of Conduct report card, with grades for 50 retail and consumer product companies. Released by the Ethisphere Council, the goal of the report card is to help U.S. companies use ethical leadership to increase their competitive advantage and profitability.
Nine companies received a grade of A or A-, including Starbucks, whose code is described in the report as “the most comprehensive and explicit addressing of risks of any code we have seen,” and PepsiCo, whose code sets an “excellent tone from the top which bubbles throughout and (is) very readable.”
Other recipients of A grades include Best Buy, Gap, Kellogg and Target.
Future issues will include report cards on the Codes of Conduct of 50 companies in the computer and high technology industries.
According to the website, the magazine is sent to 65,000 CEOs, GCs and directors.
