MediaBuyerPlanner: Facing fading ratings on broadcast TV, the Miss America Pageant moved last year to Country Music Television, which has just signed Don Mischer Productions, producer of the Emmys, to produce this year’s show.
The Pageant airs Jan. 29 2007 from the Aladdin Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. When it aired in Jan. 2006, it was CMT’s most-viewed program ever, reports Broadcasting & Cable. That airing drew an average 3.07 million viewers, a third of the viewers the pageant drew in its last broadcast viewing on ABC in 2004.
