EA Absorbs Game Studios for $855M

MarketingVOX: Gaming giant Electronic Arts is buying two game developers in a deal worth $855 million, its biggest buy ever, according to BBC News.
Bioware and Pandemic will add “four or five” titles a year to EA’s current repertoire of beloved sports titles like Madden Football and FIFA Soccer and best-selling franchise The Sims.
Bioware develops roleplaying games like the Baldur’s Gate series, while Pandemic churns out action titles like Star Wars Battlefront. Bioware’s sci-fi game Mass Effect is being published by Microsoft next month.
In July, it was revealed that EA and Microsoft were collaborating on a dynamic in-game ad platform compatible with titles for the PC and the Xbox 360.
