MediaBuyerPlanner: Financial reports for several businesses show an increase in sales during the second quarter of this year, Multichannel Merchant reports.
The Guitar Center, located in Westlake Village, Calif. showed a 10.7 percent increase in direct response net sales to $86.3 million in the second quarter ended June 30, which included revenue from the Musician’s Friend catalog based in Medford, Oregon. Consolidated net sales increased 13.8 percent to $458 million while the net income rose 4 percent to $13.4 million, the article states.
According to the report, Blue Nile, an online jeweler located in Seattle, shows an increase in sales of $56.9 million, which is a 29.9 percent increase for the three months ended July 2. Recorded sales for the company are $43.8 million. Net income rose 10.7 percent to $3.1 million which was up from $2.8 million in last year’s second quarter.
Gifts cataloger Red Envelope reported an increase in net revenue of $7.5 percent to 26.9 million in the first quarter ended July 2, which was up $25 million from last year. “Our on-target revenue growth and effective margin management resulted in significant leveraging of our operating expenses,” says Ken Constable, Red Envelope CEO.
