MarketingVOX: Via paidContent comes details on the Disney website’s pending relaunch, which CEO Bog Iger is calling “the single most important, companywide strategy Disney is currently implementing.”
Masterminded by Disney Xtreme Digital (XD), the website will allow people to personalize pages, play games, and create mash-ups of Disney content – and, under a layer of parental control, Disney will allow kids to chat.
The website will also offer an experience like a trip to Disney World: Once you enter the Magic Kingdom, it’s Disney’s world and outside influences aren’t welcome, unless they can be policed.
Smart, built-in revenue streams offer pay-to-play games, e-commerce (DVDs, theme park tickets) and advertising.
