MarketingVOX: Disney has furthered its interest in the video game market with the purchase of Junction Point Studios, reports The Associated Press.
The media giant’s Disney Interactive division purchased the studio for an undisclosed amount. Disney will use the Junction Point team to create game tie-ins for its numerous franchises and properties. Disney chief Robert Iger is reportedly eager to get the Interactive division working on the company’s own brands and move it out of the licensing realm.
Disney Interactive has purchased a number of other video game studios in the last few years.
