Despite Lawsuit, Some Viacom Content Still on YouTube

MarketingVOX: Viacom’s $1 billion lawsuit against Google and YouTube has led to the removal of some, but not all, of the media company’s content from the video-sharing site.
The difficulty in completely removing Viacom’s content illustrates the problems that YouTube is having policing itself, Reuters writes.
Moreover, apparently as a form of rebellion against Viacom’s lawsuit, some YouTube users have begun posting and reposting clips from popular Viacom shows. Others have taken to creating their own video objections to Viacom’s move.
One user posted a video that proclaims, “Let us send them a message that, while they own their content, they don’t own their viewers.”
