MarketingVOX: Dell will acquire the small music startup firm Zing, reports The Register.
Zing, which just launched in early 2006, provides software to Sandisk for its music playback device. The purchase could signal an attempt by Dell to reenter the music device market. Its own player came and went without much fanfare last year.
The price of the acquisition was not disclosed.
