Coulter’s Edwards Slur Causes Advertiser Backlash

MarketingVOX: Conservative commentator Ann Coulter’s recent derogatory remarks against Democratic Presidential candidate John Edwards (she implied he was a “faggot”) have led to advertisers’ backing away from buying space on the conservative columnists’ website.
Advertisers began jumping from Coulter’s site after liberal blog Daily Kos posted the contact information for the site’s advertisers, MediaPost reports. Advertisers on the site included Verizon Wireless, Washington Mutual, Mitsubishi, AT&T, Dogpile.com, Sallie Mae and the University of Phoenix.
Many of the advertisers purchased space on Coulter’s site through an ad network and weren’t aware that their ads were appearing on the site. A spokesperson for ValueClick said the controversy over Coulter’s remarks had led the ad network to drop Coulter’s site.
Coulter has since gone on to write on her site that Edwards campaign manager (and former Congressman) David Bonior “is fronting for Arab terrorists.”
